11 transformative solutions showcased in the first-ever International Conclave on Next-Gen Technologies hosted by MPEDA. August, 2024



The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) recently organized a one-day International conclave on Next Gen Technologies in the Seafood Sector on 30th August,2024 in Kochi.

British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM (Early Academic Fellowship Programme) are post-doctoral awards, available to eligible candidates from South Asia.

The session was inagurated by Shri Loknath Behera IPS (Rtd.) Md, Kochi Metro Rail Ltd. Other diginitaries who attended the conclave are Dr. K. Inkarsal, Chief General manager, NABARD, Mumbai , Shri Alex Ninan, VP, SEAI, Dr. M. Karthikeyan, Director, MPEDA and Shri Anil Kumar P, Joint Director, MPEDA. This event was held in Grand Hyatt, Kochi and many attendees from the sector from across the country attended. Mr G V Babu received an exclusive invite from MPEDA for the session.

The event showcased 11 cutting-edge innovations, including solar-powered chiller plants, molecular approaches to combat seafood fraud, and real-time monitoring technologies for aquaculture ponds.

The eleven technologies are

  1. Installing Solar powered chiller plants on trawlers by Goa Solar Powerhouse

  2. Naon Solutions for mercury sending by hand helding sensor by Prof. Sumit Saxena, IIT Mumbai

  3. A novel molecular approach for combating seafood fraud in crustaceans by Mr Gururaj Moorty, Price of Songkla University

  4. Fully automated patented off ground wastewater treatment technology by Assalam, Almighty Engineering

  5. About innovations with Block Chain Tracelability by Mr Jayan of Tralexho

  6. API based blockchain system tracebility and data storage in supply chain of seas food by Mr. Alex of Nextler Innovation Pvt. Ltd

  7. Aqua scope: Generative AP tools for aquaculture by Mr Sooraj of Neubiom Labs Pvt. Ltd

  8. Autmoated Shrimp Larvae counting in hatcheires and ponds (Bayline) and realtime monitoring of water quality in aquaculture ponds (Baylink) by Mr Sunkaranam Venkata Narayana Rao of Harinayanana Shrimp Technologies

  9. Solaq Platform for aquaculture disease management by Mr Shanmukha of Terora Lifeciences Pvt.ltd

  10. Intelligent Auto Feeder by Sounds of shrimp by V Sai Lokesh of Milatronics

  11. Realtime geo-spatial analysis for aquaculture by Mr. Pranit Mehta of GalaxEye Space Overall audience could engage in the sessions and also panel discussion helped to deep dive into the topics. These innovations have the power to revolutionize the sector and drive significant progress in aquaculture and seafood practices. This also highlights the industry's potential for advanced decision-making and supply chain enhancement.

Attendees lauded the event's insightful presentations, with Shri Anil Kumar and his team delivering a comprehensive summary of the technologies. Dr. Inkarsal's valedictory remarks emphasized the importance of embracing innovation in the seafood sector, drawing parallels with the other sectors. The event concluded on a high note, with Dr. Ram Mohan M , Joint Director, MPEDA extending a vote of thanks to all participants and contributors.
